Buddy Irby has announced that he is a Republican candidate for Douglas County Assessor.
Buddy and his wife, Beth, have owned and operated the Hiland Dairy distributorship for the past 18 years.
Before Hiland, Buddy worked for Missouri Farm Bureau where he was district manager over eight counties. There he was responsible for 18 employees.
“Although I am not currently in the field of insurance, I have continued education classes for the past 18 years and still hold all licenses,” Irby said.
Irby goes on to say: “I am a native of Douglas County; my parents are Clyde and Sandra (Mackey) Irby and grandparents are Mildred and the late Roy Mackey, also natives of Douglas County.” Beth’s parents are Jim and Shirley Sell, of Douglas County.
Beth and Buddy have been married for 24 years and have four sons and one daughter, as well as five grandchildren. They include Dusty and Katie, Drake, Taigan, Kailyn and Kason, of Ava; Kassi and Blake Coffer, of Sparta; Zach and Aaliyan, of Ava; and Benjamin and Jonathan, of Ava.
Beth and Buddy live south of Ava and enjoy raising cattle and quarter horses. They are members of Highway Church of the Nazarene and Buddy is a past president of Skyline School Board.
“If elected Douglas County Assessor, I will bring to the office honesty, fairness, integrity and a strong work ethic, and I will be dedicated to provide everyone with the attention and service they deserve,” Irby said.
“I would appreciate your vote and support,” Irby added.
