Ava Place enjoyed a visit this week from Larry Eugene Stevens of Nursing Home Ministries. Larry travels all over the country ministering full time, sharing gospel in song.
We get to see him once a year and feel very blessed to be one of his stops.
Also this week volunteers from Three River Hospice, Jayma, Hope and Whitney stopped by. They played bingo and fixed some of the sweet ladies’ hair. Mabus Weaver completely enjoyed being pampered!
Three Rivers also provided cupcakes for the Wednesday musical group “Traveling Strings” and popcorn and candy for our movie nights.
Many of the staff were trained in CPR this week. Debra Dade RN was our instructor. We learned lots and everyone certified.
Saturday was a Dog-gone fun time!!!! It was “Doggy Day”! John and Marilyn Slaton brought their dog show “Yorik the Wonder Dog” to Ava Place. Yorik entertained the group making us laugh and smile. We also had doggy visitors from our staff. Madison the golden lab was with her friend Babs Smith, Pickle the Boston boxer was with his friend Jesse and Maggie the teeny weenie was with her friend Jane Groth. Linda Rose and many of the other residents enjoyed having pets around to pet and play with. Thanks to all who made this week such a wonderful week at Ava Place!
