What a gorgeous week this has been. The sun has been shining and the weather warm. Who could ask for better? I have a hero at church. Larry Hutchinson called this week and told us that he had managed to vacate our friendly neighborhood church skunk. Just in time too, he said it looked like it was about ready to have babies. Now, he did tell me that he wanted to bring it down to my house and let it go down here. I hope I talked him out of doing that nice gesture. Donald is always trying to find a way to get angel wings, but this week the angel wings go to Larry.
We had good services at church Sunday. Donald had all Christians gather up at the front of the church at the end of the service, during the invitation. He said that was the first time he had ended a service like that, but that was what God was telling him to do. I have always said we are suppose to do what God tells us, sometimes we just don’t stop and hear what He is saying.
Sunday night was our youth night; we had a good turn-out for study time. Roger and Jon teach the teenagers. We then gathered in and sang songs, had some testimonies and then Jon brought a great message from God.
Youth night is also the night we eat and fellowship. Now this night we also talked about plans for Easter Sunday. It is getting really close. We are going to have a breakfast to raise money for our youth group. We will eat about 9:30, and then we will have backwards church. We are going to start with preaching. If its pretty and warm, we may even move outside. The Easter egg hunt will be last. The kids will have lots of time to hunt and eat candy.
We took our kids skating Saturday night, and a few of the adults even tried to skate. Now, let me tell you when you haven’t skated in about 15 or 20 years it’s a little difficult to get up on those wheels and take off. (We were entertainment for those who did not skate.) We also went out and ate pizza and talked and laughed and had a great time together.
