This Lord’s Day started off an hour earlier and several gallons wetter. Maybe that was why we were fewer in number this week. I didn’t even have to save your seat, there were plenty.
After Sunday school we were treated to a special by Miss Lori Ray and then Ella Faye Mitchell. Then we went into our morning worship service. The message this week was, “Signs of the Times” from our text in the 24th chapter of Matthew. We explored five different “Signs of the Times” and whether we are “that generation” spoken of in verse 34. All “Signs” point to that as a very possible, highly relevant eventuality.
Jesus said, “When these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; your redemption draweth nigh.” We should watch, and work, and wait, always looking forward to His coming.
After morning services we went down to the fellowship hall for some soup and sandwiches, then came back into the sanctuary for choir practice. We are practicing for a resurrection Sunday Cantata.
Our evening message was entitled, “Spiritual Depression,” which is by the way no doubt caused to some great extent by, the “Signs of the Times.” We looked at Psalm 42:11 for our text and the reasons for, as well as the remedy for “Spiritual Depression.”
