March comes in this Thursday, but Sunday, Feb. 26, was a windy day and more like March weather! March 17 is St. Patrick’s Day and potato planting time, along with the first day of spring on March 20, according to the calendar.
Happy Birthday to Dana (Davis) Taylor, who celebrated on St. Patrick’s Day. She always celebrates along with the Irish and wears her hat and clothes, green in color.
Dave and Karen Davis and I were in Mountain Home Thursday for doctor appointments.
Sympathy is expressed for the family of Dolly Richardson, whose funeral was held Monday at Lilly Ridge Church.
Theresa (Gaddy) Bridges visited her mother, Earnestine Gaddy, Sunday amd attended church with her. Her husband, Lee, brought her here, then visited his folks at Rogersville on Sunday also.
I enjoyed a phone call from Mary Ruth Landers Saturday.
Josh and Samantha Mayberry are parents of a new baby girl. She has been names Lillian Jane and joins her bother, Laryme and sister, Elizabeth.
Sunday, March 4 is our bi-monthly dinner at Lilly Ridge, after morning services. Also Sunday night is the church business meeting.
Dry Creek General Baptist Church will host the Little Vine Association Meeting, March 16-17.
Our prayers are for Ron Mahan to make a complete recovery from his health problems.
Also George and Mary Boze’s daughter in California has our prayers. Mary is there with her.
Best wishes to Johnalee Suter who is recovering from bronchitis. It seems several folks have had a round of bad colds and types of flu recently. Best wishes to all.
Red birds, are busy at the feeders nowadays. In fact they seem to run other birds away since they are bigger.
Forsythia bushes are budding now along with daffodils and narcissus so spring must be just around the corner.
