For all of you who didn’t come and take advantage of the reserved seating for guests in our church sancturuary this past Sunday, you sure missed a great opportunity. We celebrated a “Friend Day,” complete with several guests and everyone shared a wonderful time in the Lord’s worship services. After Sunday school Sister Lola Mayberry and Brother Gary Martin both sang special songs.
Our morning message was “The Word of God Prevailing,” from our text: “So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed.” (Acts 19:20). We delved into the nature of the term. “The Word of God” and its multiple uses in Old and New Testament scripture. You really should a’ been there!!!
After morning worship service, we adjourned to the fellowship hall, downstairs for a potluck fellowship dinner, as far as I could tell; ” A good feed was had by all.” I know that isn’t proper grammar, but you get the idea.
After we were well fed, those who could, came back to the sancturay for choir practice; just for reference, a large meal may not be the best way to prime your choir, “I’m just sayin’!” But we all survived.
Next Sunday, you are invited to come to the Fourth Sunday Singing which is being held at Oak Grove, the singing starts at 2 p.m. If you come at 10 a.m. you’ll be in time for Sunday school. If you come at 11 a.m. you’ll be in time for morning worship service. We will not have an evening service next Sunday.
Even with all the friends and neighbors that showed up, I noticed you seat was still “available” so come and join us, for a joyful blessing from the Lord. I’m still expecting you.
