Well here it is January 30 and as usual I wonder what happened to the other 29 days. It sure has went by fast especially with me being snowed in almost half the time. But it’s been warming up enough tomelt the snow in between times so I’ve been to Tipon a few times. I just noticed it’s up to 50 degrees outside. That sure looks good. But it is odd. We’ve still got February and March to get cold and snow. It usually snows a lot in March, be we just don’t know what it’s going to do anymore, do we?
I don’t think we’ve even talked to anyone this week except for Walt’s daughter, Berta. She was driving on the interstate and a semi started to pass her and side swiped her car. It shoved her car over and she managed to get it back on the highway and straightened up and then she said she tightened her grip on the steering wheel, put on the brake and shut her eyes. It hit the car on the back behind her door. It was a misfortunate accident, but she was lucky that she just got a sore shoulder, but it totaled her car. The semi driver stopped and he admitted it was his fault. His insurance company rented her a car to drive until she can get another one. They ruled her car as totaled and are going to pay her what her car was worth so she can get another one. If it had hit her a little further up there is no telling what would of happened to her. But what a terrible experience. I don’t like to travel on the interstate at all if I can help it because of all the semis on there. Very seldom does anyone ever live when they get hit by a semi. Walt’s daughter-in-law from Minnesota was here in the Quad Cities for quite sometime. Both her parents were diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer a while back and her dad passed away a few weeks ago and her mom was in such bad shape that Laura stayed here with her and she passed away last week. It’s sad for someone to lose a parent, but losing both so close together is really bad. Laura is Walt’s son, Randy’s wife.
We’re going to Davenport to meet Berta at her place when she gets home from work and then we are going to take her to look at cars. It looks like we are going to have a nice day for it.
A ventriloquist was doing a show when he started making jokes about farmers. One farmer in the crowd stood up and angerily asked, “What makes you think you’re so much smarter than farmer?” The guy said, “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to offend anyone.” The farmer pointed his finger at him and shouted, “You shut up, I’m talking to that little guy on your lap!”
Take care of yourselves and bye, bye for now.
