January 25 – We came together at Caney Church Wednesday evening to praise the Lord and learn more of His goodness. Bro. Jeff Shipley took charge of the service taking prayer requests and praise reports. We have many concerns, but we know He hears and answers. Bro. Hi Lambeth led in prayer. Jeff read I Corinthians 1:1-31. Remember the main thing is Christ crucified and resurrected that is the foundation of our faith and that the world would hear and believe is our prayer. We had a great discussion. Wonderful scripture was read and commented on by those present.
Sunday school opened with singing. Bro. Jack Essary welcomed everyone. Prayer requests and praise reports were taken. Sis. Lila Roberts led in prayer. Jack read Psalms 77:11-22 for our devotion. After a good Sunday school lesson, Happy Birthday was sung to Jim Lafferty. God bless him. Sis. Melba led the little ones in song. Testimonies were given by Jeff Shipley, Jim Lafferty, Laurene Mitchell and Vanessa Mills.
Praise and Worship began with singing. Laurene Mitchell, Melissa Harmon and Jimmy Lafferty all did specials. Pastor Bill Austin spoke this Sunday from Hab.2:1-4, Naham 1:1-7. The Lord knows them that trust in Him. Do we truly trust in the Lord or is it just a show for the world? It was a good message.
Sunday evening service began with singing. Bro. Jeff Shipley welcomed everyone. We had lots of prayer requests and praise reports. Sis. Melba Austin led in prayer. Jim Lafferty gave a testimony. Pastor Bill spoke this evening from Hebrews 11:23-27. Moses’ parents trusted God with their baby then as Moses grew he chose God and trusted God to lead him. Moses was and is an example of how we can follow Christ even when things are hard and the world ridicules us. Choose to follow Christ, the eternal reward is greater than wordly reproach. It was a very godly message.
Caney is a Bible believing; praying church. Come be with us, you are welcome.
