January 4 – Wednesday evening service at Caney began with singing. A wonderful lesson was brought by Bro. Jeff Shipley. He began taking prayer requests. Sis. Janice taught the youth. They discussed the first five Ten Commandments. A good discussion was had by all.
Sunday school opened with singing. Bro. Jack Essary welcomed everyone. He took prayer requests. Sis. Laurena Mitchell led us in prayer. Jack read Genesis 49:22-26 for our devotion. We had a great Sunday school lesson. You are never too old for Sunday school. You can and should learn something every time you come. Sis. Tracy Shipley led the little ones in song. Testimonies were given by Jeff Shipley and Jim Lafferty.
Praise and Worship began with singing. Sis. Laurena Mitchell sang a beautiful song for us. Pastor Bill Austin brought a good message this morning from Luke 10:38-42 and Psalm 27:4. Are you a Martha or a Mary? Are you caught up in the visible, physical work of the Lord? Or are we seeking the knowledge, good things of Christ.
Sunday evening we watched a movie called Pilgrim’s Progress. It really portrayed the Christian’s walk with the Lord. How easy it is to stray, but also how to get back to God.
January 11- Caney came together Wednesday evening to study the word and praise the Lord. Service began with singing. Bro. Jim Lafferty took charge of the service by taking prayer requests. Sis. Janice Lafferty led in prayer. Bro. Jim read Acts 19:21-41. We should have no other gods. We should be very careful not to be led away from the Holy Word of God or to lead someone away. All that wanted read scritpures and had good thoughts. We had a very good discussion.
January 15 – Sunday school opened with singing. Bro. Jack welcomed everyone to service. He took prayer requests. Bro. Bobby Combs led us in prayer. Bro. Bobby and Sis. Elsie are beloved members of our congregation. Jack read Psalms 81:1-10 for our devotion. We serve a living God who loves us first.
After a good Sunday school lesson, Happy Birthday was sung to Venessa Mills. God bless her. Testimonies were given by Jeff Shipley and Venessa Mills.
Praise and Worship began with singing. Melissa Harmon did a special. Pastor Bill Austin spoke this morning. He brought his message from Psalms 46:4-5 and Isaiah 57:18-21. Is the river of your life stagnant or overflowing? God is in our midst at all times if we’ll just ask and let Him. There is the streams of prayer, praise, grace and peace. Satan can muddy the stream. It is good to come together to worship and clear up the stream once again. The Holy Spirit comes and blesses. Sis. Melba Austin sang to close our good service.

Bill, Melba Austin, Hi Lambeth and Janice Lafferty. Ethel Metcalf did a special in the evening service. We are always glad for those that come visit us and bless us with song and testimony. Bro. Jack was our speaker Sunday evening. He brought his message from Proverbs 4:1-5. There is no wisdom seems like in this old world today except the knowledge God will give us. Lets learn God’s word. Keep His commandments so we can have eternal life. Bro. Hi sang a special. It was a very good service. God was with us.
