Opening prayer for the morning service was by Doug Miller. After congregational singing, our Sunday school lesson was teaching us the story of Joseph and his integrity in Genesis 39. It encourages believers to trust God no matter what his or her circumstances may be, knowing that God is in control.
Happy Birthday wishes went out to Cindy Young.
Our New Years Watch Saturday night was well attended with food and games.
Faye Allen’s sister, Joyce Wilson, is home after having colon surgery and is still waiting for some test results.
Our special song was by the Gentry Men’s Quartet, Rod and Joie Welker, Narvil Tetrick and Wendell Deo.
Pastor Hall’s message was from Matthew 24:1-28. If any man shall say unto you, here is Christ, believe it not. For as lightning comes out of the East and shines unto the West so shall the coming of the son of man be.
After singing and testimonies, a special for the evening service was a song by all the women, then a song by the men, and also Harley Allen and Bro. Bob Huskey did a song.
Bro. Hall is beginning a series on Sunday nights at 6 p.m. concerning God and how the devil wants to destroy Israel, the chosen people of God. Everyone is always invited to worship with us at Gentry Church.
