Ruth Violet Fluss, 94 years, 10 months and 15 days old, passed to heaven on Dec. 22, 2011, at the Rocky Ridge Manor in Mansfield, Mo.
Ruth was born Feb. 7, 1917 near Fallon, Mont., to August and Lena (Grutt) Albrecht. Ruth was united in marriage to Leo A. Fluss on Nov. 7, 1939 in Terry, Mont., and to this union one daughter was born. Over the years Ruth and her family lived in Oregon, Idaho, and Washington and settled back in Montana for many years. In 1998 Ruth moved to Ava, Mo.
Her jobs over the years include waitress, secretary, bookkeeper and homemaker, but raising cattle gave her the most enjoyment. Her hobbies included sewing, painting with acrylics, and tole painting. She was blessed with many pets in her life who brought her much joy.
Ruth was preceded by her husband, Leo; one brother, Frank; and four sisters, Edith, Helen, Ruby, and Charlotte.
Ruth is survived by her daughter, Faye Conn and husband Bill of Ava, Mo.; one grandchild Kristi Fehringer and husband Brent of Twin Falls, Idaho; nieces and nephews to whom she was close, Marilyn Peterson, Richard Beardsley and John Beardsley of Kalispell Mont., Dolly Seid of Casper, Wyo., and Tom Watson, Millington, Tenn.; step-grandchildren Karla, Alison, Julie and Sarah; and her pets Fritzi, the dog and Mandy, the cat.
A memorial service for Ruth will be Saturday, Dec. 31, at 10 a.m. in the Ava United Methodist Church, Ava, Mo., with the Pastor Marty Blakey officiating. Memorials may be made to The Humane Society of Southwest Missouri.
