Hope everyone had a good Christmas and all got home safe.
Dick and I stopped to visit with Helen Dobbins Tuesday and on our way home we saw where a house burned at the end of A Highway at Rome. We didn’t know the people, they bought the place from Harvey and Roma Mackey a few years ago.
Wednesday afternoon, Brenda Reed, Teresa Robertson, Norma Cross and I took several boys and girls K-4th grade from the Goodhope General Baptist Church to the nursing home in Ava. They took homemade cookies that they had decorated and a sack of fruit to some of the residents there and sang some Christmas songs to them.
Our neighbor Sharyn Jones surprised us one evening last week with a plate of homemade cookies, that she and Mark had made. We really enjoyed them.
Friday evening we were surprised again when Tony and Lisa Richards and Charley, Cody Richards, Lisa, Katie and Braxton came by to wish us a Merry Christmas and to bring Dick a picture.
Saturday early, we went by and picked Kenny and Seth Hunt and Norma Cross up and headed for Claremore, Oklahoma. We stayed with Georgia Sanders and spent time with other relatives on Christmas morning. We all met at Bill and Sue Johnson’s where we had our santa gift exchange and a big dinner with relatives. Some couldn’t make it this year and we missed our sister, Reatha Haas, that passed away in October this year.
We made it home this evening. We had a good trip even if it did rain on us all the way home.
Kelly Thompson’s folks are spending several days with Kelly, DeAnn, Kinsey, Kailey and Kyle.
God bless everyone.
