We trust you had a glorious, Merry Christmas, with family and friends. We certainly did here at Oak Grove. Beginning with our Sunday school lesson about none other than Jesus and his birth.
Progressing on after Sunday school we went into our Christmas Program; “God With Us, Emmanuel,” a musical presentation. Everyone who came enjoyed the program. The choir had a wonderful time doing it, the narrator did an excellent job and we even had some unexpected adlibbing by one of the “cherubs” who was hovering over the babe in the manger.
It was a truly beautiful celebration of the birth of our Lord and a blessing for all those involved.
We then read the story of the “Christ child” in the gospel of Luke, chapter two and a few words about our privilege to have such a savior. Then we handed out small bags of “goodies,” and we all went our separate ways, “Praising God and saying, glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, and good will toward men.”
We did have room for you as well, and I had to take your bag of “goodies” to someone else. Sorry, but I didn’t want it to go to waste. Come next Sunday, and be our guest, God bless.
