Sandy Church

As we came together on our Lord’s Day, many prayer requests were given for those grieving, but most of all those who are unsaved.  Doyle Humbyrd prayed this prayer.  Then he told us what a wonderful Father in Heaven we have.  He wants to give good things unto his children.

After the Sunday school classes, Stan Humbyrd led us in songs.

A program was done by the little ones with help from Stan and Kim Humbyrd.  They were at the manger scene along with baby Wyatt Harris as Jesus and Mom and Dad, Kendra and Jim Harris, as Mary and Joseph.  Casey Dobbs read the Christmas story from Luke 2.  Colton Harris, Makinna Humbyrd, Jesse Dalton, Jaylin Wilson and Adalynn Siler sang, Away in a Manger and We Wish You a Merry Christmas.  Rhonda and Abby Dobbs ended with Immanuel.  We were so glad to have several of Bob Siler’s family with him.  They were having their family Christmas gathering later in the day.

Gifts from the prayer partners and the church were given to the children.  Treats were also handed out.

Lunch was served in the fellowship hall to a group going caroling to eight places in the neighborhood.  We were so glad to have Carla Wilson come and join us.

At 6 p.m. Brother Van Menzies read and shared from the book of Mark.  He spoke on the promises of God and asked do we really believe in God and his faithfulness to us?

We closed with special prayer time at the altar for Paula Calmer, Van Menzies and Dane Humbyrd.

Each Tuesday at 7 p.m. is special prayer meeting.  This Wednesday will be the Christmas party at Sonya and Kevin Hodges’ house at 7 p.m.  We have good food and good Christian fellowship as we celebrate our Lord Jesus Christ and his great love for us.  May we do just that.
