During Wednesday night Bible study we had 16 attend. Our Wednesday night group has been studying the 2nd book of the Bible, Exodus and have been having a wonderful time studying this book out.
Sunday morning we had many prayer requests mentioned, the Stout family, all those bereaved, we had many members missing, our lost family and friends, our troops, my own brother, Mike Barnes, is traveling from Afghanistan this holiday season and we pray for a safe trip. We have many needs and know that God hears them all.
The children had five attend Sunday school and they practiced their Christmas skit. We had 12 adults attend and studied John, chapter 9. Pastor Scott delivered a wonderful sermon from the book of Acts 16:22-34. The wonderful example set by Paul and Siler to praise God through all things good or bad. Our Lord blesses those who endure such as Paul and through this it ended in a jailer and all his house being baptized and converted. Praise God! Our morning attendance was 28. Our evening started out with prayer requests.
Our attendance for night service was 19. Pastor Scott brought forth our evening message from I Thess. 5:6-28. We need to be there to build up one another and seek correction from God. We need to thank one another, love one another, respect one another, pray for one another and be concerned for each others soul. When one falls, pick them up, in a postive way. Hold each other in high esteem. Pastor Scott also read from Ezekiel 37:1-13 – the valley of the dry bones. We no longer have to watch others walk around dry, athirst, under bondage and in death. We can tell them to get up and live and drink of the living water. Jesus Christ is waiting on you. If you know someone lost, or dry I pray you tell them how to live. We at New Hope wish you all a very merry Christmas and remember Jesus is the reason for the season!
