Gentry Church

Sunday morning we had opening prayer, congregational singing then they presented our Christmas program for the second time at 10:30 AM.  We appreciate all the ones who assisted in making it a success.  Friday night we had a full house for the program.  The little children playing “Silent Night” with their bells was just precious.  The skits by Sheila and Doug Miller, their children played by Haley and Jackson Beard were hilarious.  A special appreciation goes out to Joanne Welker for the music and hard work.

After the program, Pastor Hall read from Luke 2, the story of the birth of Jesus.  People have done away with the Christmas story and what Christmas really means.  Let us hold fast to the virgin birth of Christ this Christmas season.

My son, Kevin with grandkids, Hannah and Keaton Reich visited me Friday and attended the Christmas program with me.

Harley and Faye Allen made a fast trip to Columbia to see their granddaughter’s graduation and also attended the Basher Church Christmas program which was very good.

Next Sunday, Christmas Day, Gentry will have a communion service at 11:00 AM, then will have no evening service.

Glad to report Elaine Coonts is home after spending a week at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis and is scheduled to see doctors in Springfield for further treatment of her Leukemia.  Elaine now lives in Nixa close to her daughter.

Wednesday night we will be back to our choir practice at 6 PM then our videos and study of “As the World May Know” at 7 PM.

Our Sunday night service had much singing and testimonies.  Our special song was by the Gentry Singers.

Bro. Hall’s message was from Galatians 4: 4-7.  God sent forth his son into your hearts to make us an heir of God through Christ.

Gentry wishes you a blessed Merry Christmas.
