Ava’s JV Bears played their second game of the season on Tuesday, Dec. 13, winning over Hartville on the home floor, 41-33.
Ava’s scoring was led by Cooper Emerich and Phillip Eubanks both with 10 points, followed by Brandon Guengerich 8, Caleb Miles 6, Jesse Dean 4, Tyler Cox 2 and Jordan Dimirsky, 1 point.
The JV’s defense got them the win once again. Cooper Emerich sparked several turnovers with his hustle and great defense, Coach Justin Gilmore said.
“Hartville’s full-court pressure caused problems, but we were able to score several points after breaking the press,” Gilmore added. “We took care of the ball in our half-court offense and got some good looks at the basket. Our defensive intensity should give us the opportunity to win a lot of games this season,” Coach Gilmore predicted.
