Ava 7th, 8th Grade Bears Take Season To Christmas Break

The Ava Middle School Bears hosted Fairview of Howell County for their final games before the start of the Christmas break.

The 7th grade Bears defeated Fairview 42-28. Ava led 6-4 after one quarter of play and led 20-13 at halftime.

The Bears continued to extend the lead in the second half, pushing the lead to 33-18 by the end of the third quarter.

Anthony Rosas led the scoring for Ava with 14 points, followed by Colton Skyles with eight points and Tyler Pellham with seven points. The remainder of the scoring for the Bears included six points from Peyton Ingram, five points from Chase Dodson, and two points from Nate Crandall.

Fairview jumped out to a 15-3 first quarter lead en route to a 61-21 win in the 8th grade contest. Austin Potts led Ava’s scoring with nine points, followed by Caleb McFarlin with eight points. Chance Dobbs and Nate Bray chipped in two points each to complete the scoring for the Bears.
