Donald R. Brown, 76 of Rochelle, Ill., passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2011 at Swedish American Hospital in Rockford, Ill. He was born on Sept. 23, 1935 in Ava, Mo., to Louis A. and Margaret M. (Hammand) Brown. Don married Maxine Woolbright on Sept. 2, 1956 in Rochelle.
Prior to retiring in 1990, he was employed by Del Monte Can Plant in Rochelle. Memberships include the First Baptist Church in Rochelle.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Doyle.
Survivors include his wife, Maxine, of Rochelle, Ill.; three daughters, Doris Meador of Rochelle, Ill., Donna (Michael) Kalm of San Jose, Ill., and Deanna (Bob) Hill of Sycamore, Ill.; grandchildren, Tori Meador, Danielle Meador, Jessica Rainwater, Matthew Albertsen, Morgan Albertsen, Jonathan Kalm and Jami Evans.
Services were held at First Baptist Church on Monday, Dec. 12, at 10:30 a.m., with Rev. Doug Cowan, officiating. Burial was at Lawnridge Cemetery in Rochelle, Ill., under direction of Unger-Horner Funeral Home, Rochelle.
