We can feel the hustle and bustle of the Christmas holiday coming up and soon there will be folks traveling home to the Ozarks.
I am sorry to be losing a neighbor, Judy Breyne, who is moving into town, but hope she will be better off there since her husband passed away.
Reading the obituaries in the “Times” paper I saw where a second cousin, Calvin Clute, of Madisonville, Texas had died and a former resident, Fay Shanks, also passed away. Other relatives of Calvin Clute include Barry Pleasant and his mother.
Congratulations to Ryan and Rachel Hogan, parents of the cute twin boys born September 23rd. They are surely growing a lot by now, and I would love to see them, perhaps when they bring them to church at Lilly Ride, where they attend.
I am enjoying getting Christmas cards about every day recently and I am sending several also.
Congratulations to Orville and Vena Shaffer who celebrated their 60th anniversary December 1st. Orville lived at Lilly Ridge when growing up.

Another couple, Harry and Loretta Davidson, celebrate their 59th wedding this Tuesday, the 13th of December.
The Lilly Ridge Church Christmas program was Sunday evening. Report was that it was very impressive from Paralee Rea, and her neighbor, Ruth Stone, made a neon Christmas.
Paralee Rea took her niece, Sue Newton for Sunday lunch at Skippers in Mountain Home. They especially enjoyed the deep fried sweet potatoes.
Saturday evening the united daughters of the confederacy and sons of the confederate veterans had a combined Christmas party at El Chico’s in Mountain Home.
Gainesville Eastern Star Chapter had their Christmas dinner Monday evening, December 12th at 6:30 before their regular meeting.
Happy December 16th birthday to Mearl Satterfield. Its not too good to add on another year when you’re “over the hill” is it Mearl?
