12-5-11. Well, Merry Christmas! It’s coming up fast. As usual I’m not ready and won’t be right up to Christmas Day. First I’m gonna work on things for my family because I’ll have Christmas first with them. Zoie liked the Barbie doll and things I made for it so well I’m making some more and I’m going to get her another Barbie so she can pretend they’re neighbors and come to visit each other. I’ve got a quilt top I made for Anita a few years ago and never did finish it. I’ts got really pretty pictures of horses on the material and I just have to (tie) quilt ii as I don’t have a quilting frame. I’ll try to make it look neat though. Maybe use sewing thread instead instead of yarn.
Walt (Bob) has had a cold for several days now. He sure had been coughing a lot, but usually a productive cough. His son, Rob, has got the same thing. They can’t hardly talk to each other on the phone because both of them are coughing. Rob’s friend, Fred, has it and the doctor told him it lasts 8 days. It’s not contagious or I would have took it from Walt. But I may get it anyway. I hope not.
Saturday it rained all day and we got one inch in our gauge. We had to go to Tipton for me to run my monthly errands so we were in and out of it, but it didn’t feel like a real cold rain. But it was wet.
Walt wanted me to say that Candi’s fiancee. Jarred, gave him a pretty “John Deere Green” John Deere cap that he got at work. It’s a nice one and Walt likes it a lot.
I want to tell Crystal Lee that’s she’s still on our minds and in our prayers and we love her and wish her the best.
I haven’t talked to my family since we got back from the Cities. I should call and see if they’re all okay.
Like I always say, the times goes by so fast I can’t keep up with. I already got a Christmas package from my cousin, Edna in Nixa, Missouri. She always sends me nice things. I want to try to get hers ready to mail this week when we go back to the Cities for Walt to run his errands and I’m gonna try to get my cards ready to mail instead of waiting until the last minute. Good luck to me on that. I got a card December 1 from a dear friend, Kathy Cox, and I want to get one to her soon. I feel bad that I haven’t corresponded with her more since her husband, Harley, passed. It doesn’t mean I haven’t been thinking about you. I want to come and see you as soon as I can. I appreciate the card.
We just got some terrible, terrible, bad news that Crystal Lee’s husband was killed in a truck accident. We’re going on up to the Cities and watch the dogs so Candi and Jarred can go to Missouri. I’m in shock as I’m sure everyone is. I have to end this and get ready to go.
Take care of yourselves and bye, bye for now. Pray extra hard for Crystal and family and all of her husband’s family too.
