New Hope Freewill Baptist Church

We had wonderful services at New Hope Sunday. I want to first give God some due glory and testify of something wonderful He has done. Sunday morning when we walked into church our altar was piled with groceries and a note from an anonymous person who was blessed with an abundance and wanted to give back. We don’t know who you are, but our love and gratitude is extended to you and our prayer of blessings from God upon you for your generosity and kindness. What a wonderful way to start out the Lord’s Day to witness His love and generosity first thing! We will make sure it goes to a deserving family of God’s choosing. Our attendance for Sunday was 17. We had many prayer requests for the bereaved, those whose health is failing, for our military, our community churches and several more. After Sunday school our children sang us two very beautiful songs and took up their penny march. Bro. Scott, Bro. Larry and Sis. Virginia had a special song for us and Bro. Mike read to us from Isaiah 40:28-31. Pastor Scott delivered our morning message from the book of Deuteronomy 8:11-20, “The Power of God.” We should always recognize where our blessings come from and who put us where we are. There is no room in a Christian’s life for self righteousness. Remember what exactly we were delivered from, forget not God. Don’t be a church of Ephesus, don’t forget our first love! Remember what we committed to, to love God will all our heart and to walk in His commandments.

Sunday evening we had 13 attend worship. After we made our requests for prayer we sang songs. Pastor Scott brought our message for the evening from Psalms 149 and 150. These are beautiful Psalms of praise to our Lord. In one verse it even says for the saints to sing aloud upon their beds. I could never in my lifetime extend enough praise to God, but I sure can try my hardest to get His attention and make Him notice me. No matter how we praise and worship our Lord whether it be in song, in dance, in musical instruments, in shouting, in holding up holy hands, in falling on our faces, in prayer, in testimony, in whatever way we do it, we should do these things in reverance to God. Oh friends and how beautiful His salvation is! What a wonderful thought that I, little me, can bring pleasure to my Great, powerful and awesome God, if I can bring pleasure to Him by running in circles and shouting glory to the lamb, I’m going to do!

Praise is due to Him, because He is so worthy! If you want to feel the touch of the Master’s hand I beg you today to reach out for it!
