Highlonesome

It was a very nice night for the Christmas program at Mt. Olive Saturday night. Everyone did good and everyone seemed to really enjoy it.

Sunday was pretty nice for their hayride and caroling.

Sunday 47 were present at Garrison. We missed Russ, Kim and Stevi Jones. Stevi had a basketball tournament at Lockwood. It should have been Saturday, but got cancelled. Some were missing for various reasons. I was glad to see the Rozell family back. They were gone a week ago Sunday. Sue’s Aunt, was celebrating her 100th birthday. They had company, some cousins came in for the event. Sunday night several were out. I read a poem, “The Night Jesus Came.” James brought the weekend messages. The Jones’ made it back for Sunday night services.

Garrison Baptist Church welcomes everyone to the Christmas program , a program and poems will be read for the program. Finger foods will be served after gifts are opened. Christmas Day services will be at 10:30 a.m. No Sunday School or evening services. Singing and preaching will be at 10:30 a.m. Come join us.

Sunday guests of Iona Maggard were her son, Ervin, and Sandra Maggard and their daughter, Valerie Austin.

Buddy Gibson has been fishing a few of the warmer days though we have not had many of them lately. He catches a few when he goes.

James and I enjoyed the Christmas program and dinner at the VFW Lodge in Ozark given by the girls at Delmina Woods, VFW and staff at Delmina and the council provided the dinner. James asked the blessing and afterwards the girls opened gifts. It was a real good program with great food and fellowship.

We visited at Farm Bureau Insurance in Ozark with Tammy Braden. She said her husband, Kevin is improving from the 25 foot deer stand he fell from in bow season. She desires everyone’s prayers. He takes therapy, but it’s slow. They said it would take a year before he walks if he ever does. They are expecting two grandchildren in April and May. He can still hold and hug them she said. Remember them in your prayers.

John and Connie Siler attended ball games at Sparta where their grandchildren played. They have four that play ball. They spent Saturday morning watching the games and visiting. Then they came home to do laundry and all those tasks that have to be done.

John and Connie, Brad, Patti and Adalynn Siler went to the visitation for Gary and Chad Lee. Our hearts go out to the families. Lots of accidents, sick folks and tragedies everywhere.

Raina Powell and Crissie Coaltrain visited us Sunday. We hope to go see their Christmas program at Eastern Gate, December 1.

Last week Janie Morrison visited Charlie and Rosa Robbins and Iona Maggard. Janie and granddaughter, Leslie went shopping. Janie said she was a big help helping find things. Janie said the Christmas program at Union Hill Church was real good Sunday night.

Remember – Jesus is the reason for the season.

May you all enjoy your friends and loved ones this Christmas season. You never know from day to day what we are going to face.
