Filing Starts Slow For April Elections

There was little political activity here Tuesday as filing for the April elections got under way.

In the City of Ava, East Ward Alderman Ric Engelhardt filed for re-election and David Norman filed for alderman of the West Ward.

County Clerk Karry Davis reported that James Stafford has filed for re-election to the Ava Area Ambulance District Board of Directors.

No one has filed for school board positions in Ava R-1, Skyline R-2 or Plainview R-8 school districts, and no one has filed for the board of the Douglas County Health Department.

Candidates have until Jan. 17 to file for the April 3 elections.
