Ava FFA hosted its Chapter Barnwarming on Nov. 22, in the Ag Shop from 6 to 9 p.m.
In addition to dancing, members participated in games throughout the night.
The games included Skittle spitting, musical hay bales, tug of war, apple bobbing, and root beer chugging.
Skittle spitting winners were Ashley Riggs with a Skittle spit of 15’8″, and Sam Robertson with a distance of 18’9.” Also in the top were Alaina McMasters, Kayla Dougherty, Derick Downs, and Dakota Cain.
Musical hay bale winners were Abby Cooper and Kendra McCleary.
The senior class won the tug of war competition. root beer chugging winner was Derick Downs.
Second place in root beer chugging went to Seth Shots.
Barnwarming king candidates were James Elijah, Taylor Robinson, Tyler Young, Derick Downs, Sam Robertson, and Rusty Rogers. Queen candidates were Kendra McCleary, Abby Cooper, Destany Russell, Ashtin Stillings, Ashley Riggs, and Augusta Rideeoutte.
King and queen games were bottle chugging, nail driving, and cookie on the face. Bottle chugging winners were Rusty Rogers, and Ashtin Stillings. Cookie on the face winners were James Elijah and Kendra McCleary. After members voted, the committee announced king and queen.
James Elijah was selected as Barnwarming King, with 2nd place going to Taylor Robinson, and 3rd place to Derick Downs.
After the first round of voting Destany Russell and Ashtin Stillings were tied for queen. So members had to revote and Ashtin Stillings was selected as 2011 Barnwarming Queen. Destany Russell received 2nd place and Kendra McCleary received 3rd place.
All candidates received a goodie bag and the king and queen also received a sash and crown.
DJ for the evening was Mr. Ray Davison. Serving as chaperones were Bonnee and Tim Stafford, Billie and Dwight Schuster, and Randy Kauffman.
