Faith Rock Church

We had a beautiful Sunday weatherwise for our Christmas dinner yesterday. We appreciate everyone that prepared and brought so much good food. We were glad to have several visitors for church and stayed for dinner. We had so much that we could have shared with many more. Christmas always brings a desire to share with others.

There will be a Christmas program next Sunday at 5 p.m. Our services through the winter begins at 5 p.m. for our convenience and we want to invite you to come to the Christmas program. We plan to have morning services Christmas Day to celebrate our Lord’s birthday and dismiss the evening service.

Pastor Dewitt preached a good sermon from Matthew 1:18-25. This was the answer to the promises made in the Old Testament of the birth of Christ through the Virgin Mary, to bring a Savior to the world to save all that were lost.

Sunday night Sister Loretta alsmost always brings the evening message to us. We had lots of good special singing and enjoyed the visitors that came and took part. A friend I worked with at Emersons came with Sis. Lena and Bernie. She now lives in Oklahoma. Her son from Mountain Grove and friend also came and I was glad to see them. Sorry I didn’t recognize them after all these years. We all change some in 20 years.

We sang Happy Birthday to our Sunday School Superintendent Bro. Darrel Hesterlee Sunday morning. We appreciate him so much here. He goes far beyond to take care of the church and make each one of us always feel welcome and the church is always ready for services mostly because of what he does to keep it looking good and warm in the winter. So Happy Birthday. God bless you, Darrel.

We are quilting Tuesday and have some lap robes ready to give to our nursing home this week. I appreciate those that are here to work each week.

I thought we had a very nice Christmas parade Saturday and all that took part as they do each year and I’m sure they will be blessed for their efforts each year and I hope it always continues. My granddaughter and son-in-law went to the Friday Night Frolic that the Chamber of Commerce put on Friday night and had a good time. We had good weather this year for us to get outside. I have enjoyed all the decorated yards also and enjoyed getting out to see. We don’t decorate much, but enjoy those that do. Our daughter, Teresa and John Gloyd of Branson always do a beautiful job decorating their yard and inside their home.

Last week was a sad week for many because of deaths of their loved ones and our prayers are with you all and Carrie Burkdoll we are thinking of you today as you lost your son, Jason. May God be with you and give you and yours comfort. God bless.
