Debbie Cederline came down Saturday and her and Bonnie Phipps and Cecilia Edwards went over and watched the Christmas parade Saturday then Debbie went home that evening.
James Blakey and Gary Shelton visited in my home last Monday morning before going to work.
Mary Martha Williams came that evening and took me to our O.E.S. Meeting.
The snow I got in my rain gauge last Tuesday melted down to .1/2 of an inch.
Kay picked up my news that day and the visitors that I had in my home that day were Tara Coonce and Jett, James Blakey and Lakota and Kendra Dering.
Tara and Jett was here Wednesday and later on Justin came by. Joel and Monica Reemes came up Thursday evening and visited a while.
Friday was a busy day for me. I delivered FFA fruit in town, delivered cheese and sausage to Tom Williams, fruit to Mona’s CafĂ©, dropped Connie Bacorn off at the lodge hall, Shirley Jessen and Wally were feeling good, then I started to take Mary Goss a plant from the O.E.S. because of the death of her mother, and they had gone to Springfield for a doctor. appointment so I took it to Andrea at the Ava Drug Store then I went by Jo Stephens and gave her oranges to her and went home and then Marie Huff came by and picked some eggs up.
Saturday afternoon Sandy Shumate came by and picked me up and we went to Sparta where we picked up Donna Buchanan then we went to Ozark where we stopped by and I went in to see Liz Bailey and took her a carrot cake and a Christmas card, but she was asleep, so I left and then we went on over to see Donna Fleetwood and took her a Christmas card and gift and I left a card for Hershel Fleetwood then we left there and went to the Stained Glass Theatre where we met our grandson and his wife, Chad and Laura Blakey, Monica Reemes and some of her church friends that come with her every time. We saw the Silver Belles which was real good, but they are all good, anyway I think so.
I went to church on Sunday. Lots of prayers have been going up for our sick folks and all that need prayers for other things so keep all our sick folks in your prayers.
My prayers and sympathy go out to all the ones who have lost a loved one in the last two weeks. I won’t say names but you all have my deepest sympathy.
Please keep our leaders and the men and women in the service and their families and the ones in training in your prayers.
Attention: Red Light
The Granny Scam is back in Douglas County again so all you grandparents watch for them.
My friend called me and said that she had a call from her grandson who was out of the country and when she spoke to him he didn’t sound right so she asked him for the name of his children and the guy said what did that have to do with it and hung up. You see a friend of hers told about getting scammed so she was a little cautious when she received the call. It has been on the radio telling about it, but not everyone listens to the radio so here is what they say. It will be your grandchild and they have done something to be put in jail and it will take $500.00 to get them out and you need to send the money to a certain place, then they will call you back and say they didn’t receive it in time so your grandchild will have to stay overnight in jail and you will have to send more money and as long as you send money they will give your more excuses until you catch on. You don’t get to talk to your grandchild except for the first call. My friend called some of her other friends after she called me, so be careful.
