Rome

2011 Thanksgiving holidays are in the past. Hope everyone had a safe and happy weekend. We all have so much to be thankful for.

Dick and I had an unusual Thanksgiving . For years my sisters and I fixed dinner for our family and friends at the Jenkins building in Goodhope. Since the death of Reatha and other things happening we decided not to have it this year. So our friend, Juanita Herrell, asked us to come to her home. We were not to bring anything or help in any way, not even clean up part. So we sat down to a wonderful meal then watched a Christmas movie. Kelly Thompson cooked the turkey and ham. Juanita did the rest. Besides Kelly, Diann, Kinsey, Kailey and Kyle Thompson, Norma Cross, Dick and Pauline Richards and her friends, Cal and Lisa from Springfield were all there for the occasion. We had a great time and so peaceful

Randy and Susan Jenkins from Seymour had his mother, Peggy Jenkins, and Oliver Lee and Liz Jenkins at their home for Thanksgiving dinner.

Freda Richards had Thanksgiving dinner with Keith and Michelle Richards at Nick and Jennifer Pitts’ home. Friday Karl Richards came down from Rolla, MO. and picked her up so she could spend the rest of the weekend in his home. They had their dinner Sunday with their children and Christina’s mom and dad.

We had several calls from friends and family on Thursday.

We visited the nursing home Monday and had a nice visit with Peggy Jenkins, Goldie Miller and Irene Richards. The nursing home had their Thanksgiving dinner on Tuesday. Randy and Susan and Oliver Lee and Liz had dinner with Peggy Jenkins. Norma Cross visited with Peggy, Goldie and Irene on Wednesday.

Julian and Becky Cavalier, Emily and Savannah went to Louisiana to visit Julian’s family over the weekend.

The youth leaders at the Goodhope General Baptist Church held their annual soup, chili and sandwich dinner Sunday evening for donations and the silent auction for the youth group. They are planning a trip to a concert during the Christmas holidays in Branson. There was a good turn out.

We were happy to have our Pastor, David Welch, back with us Sunday after a two week vacation.

I called my sister, Georgia Sanders and wished her a Happy Birthday today. She is 81 years old.

May God bless everyone.
