As many of you are reading this, you are still recovering from the large meals that were served for Thanksgiving. This was the first year that I had to miss Thanksgiving dinner, for I had to work. It just didn’t seem like Thanksgiving. Therefore, I enjoyed lunch with some of my family at Grillo’s at Marshfield on Saturday, after work. Junior and I enjoyed eating with daughter, Jeanette Evans and grand kids, Nicholas and Sarah Inman and great granddaughter, Reagan Inman. Junior had dinner on Thanksgiving Day at Jeanette’s home in Marshfield.
I understand that Helen Wilson and her son, Dan Wilson of Colorado have been in the area visiting. Many in our neighborhood will remember Helen as the sister of Harvey Sartin. Helen and her son have been looking for a place here. I know they are looking forward to getting relocated to the area. Helen grew up here and has spoken of her many fond memories of the community.
Remember that Christmas Eve service at the Chateau Charmant will be on Dec. 24 at 7 p.m. This is for the whole community. Hope to see you there for the 3rd annual service. This is always a great time to come together with our friends and neighbors.

Seems like there is so much to do with preparations for Christmas. When you have a large family, it can be overwhelming. Let us not forget the real reason for the season and take time to enjoy the simple pleasures of the Christmas season. I have been excited to see the many Christmas lights going up around Olga and the Fordland area, soon Christmas trees will be sparkling and lights a glow all over the community. Makes me recall when Santa Claus visited Kindall Store a few years back. You should have seen the faces of those little customers when he walked through the door. Some were really excited that he had made it all the way to Olga and some were terrified! It was so much fun and I laughed a lot.
Hope this greeting finds you well and we hope to see you out this way in the near future. Hope you will remember to shop local this Christmas and support our local merchants. God Bless.
