Highlonesome

November 20th – We had 62 for our communion day at Garrison Baptist Church. We welcome you to come and worship with us. Sunday school begins at 10 a.m., preaching service at 11 a.m. and Sunday night at 6:30 p.m. and Bible study at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday night.

James and me visited Florence Morrison at the Christian Health Care in Nixa. Her granddaughter, Jan, has been with her and her daughter. Dorrelene came in Saturday night. Janie Morrison went to the airport with Jan to pick her mom up.

We stopped at the Ozark Community Center where Ramona Goodwin was honoring her husband, Bob, with a retirement party. A very large crowd of friends and relatives attended. James asked the blessing on the bountiful meal. There were lots of goodies. Congratulations, Bob!

Sunday, Rex and Shirley Halcomb had a early Thanksgiving with the John and Connie Siler family.

The highlight of our news is Calab Morrison killed a 16 point buck this season. His proud grandparents live here in the Highlonesome community. They are George and Janie Morrison.

Jean Loomis enjoyed her family for Thanksgiving. Attending were George and Janie Morrison, their daughter, Rhonda and granchidren, Dylan, Kyle, Lyne and Ayden. The chidren’s mother, Courtney had to work. Also Rhonda’s daughter, Leslie and friend, Dale Hampton, Rachel and Caleb Morrison. Bo was sick. They had lots of good food.

James and me had Thanksgiving dinner at his sister’s, Christy and Chris Lakey’s with several family members.

Sybil Harvill had Thanksgiving at her daughters, Shirley and Steve Clark.

I am glad Shirley Jones is feeling better.

Tim and Tracy Stepp have a granddaughter, born November 21. They are Happy Grandparents. She is a beautiful baby. Great-grandparents, Joe and Sue Rozell are on cloud nine too.

Sunday at Garrison Church 57 people were in attendance. They say its hard to count, but around about 57. Pastor James Orick brought the message. Jack Halley was our speaker Sunday night. He is on the Delmina Woods council. Our church is going to help sponsor them.

The Christmas program at Garrison Church will be December 18 at 6:30 p.m.

Iona Maggard enjoyed going to her son’s, Ervin and Sandra Maggard’s home for Thanksgiving. Their children – Valerie, Shelby and Casey, the Maggard’s son, Dwight, Dawn, Micheal and Madison, Sandra’s brother, Buddy Chronister, all enjoyed the day together. They had lots of good food and Iona said Sandra sent home leftovers home with her.

Gordon and George Jones’ brother, Jerry, and his wife flew in from Chicago for Thanksgiving to be with family.

Jerry Nelson went to his daughters for Thanksgiving and to be with family members.

Everyone seems to be full of turkey and ham and all the trimmings.

Thanksgiving is over and now Christmas – my how time flies. Remember what it is all about – Jesus.

Florence Morrison passed away November 23. Our sympathy to the family. She was a very nice lady and relative. Her granddaughter, Jan, will return to California December 3rd and Dorrallene her daughter will live at Florence’s home in Ozark. James preached her funeral at a graveside service at the Hall Cemetery at Mound Friday November 25. We also attended the visitation.

Stay warm, we sure are having a cold spell in the Ozarks.
