Opening prayer for the morning service was by Joie Welker.
Our Sunday school lesson was on “Facing Life Without Worry.” Worry cannot add anything positve to our lives, it is unproductive. Life will bring challenges, God asks us to trust in Him for the grace to deal with everyday as it comes.
Happy Birthday wishes go out to Janice Young and Micah Marin.
There will be no Bible Study Wednesday night so we can practice for our Christmas Program at 6 p.m.
Our special song was by Wanda, Rod and Joie Welker, Faye Allen and Narvil Tetrick.
Pastor Hall’s morning message was from Galations 1:6-12, “The Old Fashion Way.” We need to get back to the Old Time Religion as they revealed the plan of salvation, taught the word of the Bible is the key, and preaching of the cross and ressurection of Jesus Christ and His atonement.
After singing and testimonies in our evening service, Bro. Hall’s message was from I John 1:6-10. God is light and the essence of all splendor and glory. He is the source of illumination of right decisions in our life. Salvation begins with confession then we need to walk with God. Darkness will always lead us astray.
Some from Gentry Church attended the Fourth Sunday Singing at the Ava General Baptist Church. We heard some good singing and a lot of churches were represented. The next Fourth Sunday Singing will be at Gentry Church at 2 p.m. January 22, if weather permits, so mark that on your calendar.
