The regular 4th Sunday Singing was held at Ava General Baptist Church, November 27 from 2-4 p.m. The welcome was given by Emcee, Sybil Gheer; Bro. Joe Lafferty opened with prayer; song books were distributed/collected by Freeman Porter. There were 46 present and 42 songs were shared. The next 4th Sunday Singing will be January 22, 2012 at Gentry Church.
Officers were re-elected for 2012.
Participating instrumentalists include: Piano: Sybil Gheer, Jena Moyer, Loretta DeWitt, Joanne Knapp, Susie Sisco, Joann Welker; Guitar: Joe Lafferty, Bob Huskey, Dean Knapp; Harmonica: Bob Sothman, Sybil Gheer; Mandolin: Jeff Biaggi; Dobro: Dean Knapp; Bass Guitar: Jerry Moyer; Violin: Violet Lakey; Spoons: Juanita Darlington.
Special music included: Solo’s: Oren Alcorn, Lena Hutchison, Susie Sisco, Phyllis Swofford, and Bob Huskey shared 2 poems; Duet’s: Dean and Joanne Knapp; Loretta DeWitt and Jena Moyer; Quartet: Heritage Singers: Heath Roberts, Keith Pellham, Jerry and Jena Moyer; church groups: Breedon, Faith Rock, and Gentry; the final special was provided by the preachers.
The following churches were recognized: Ava General Baptist, Breedon, Church of the Living God, Dogwood Nazarene, Faith Rock, Gentry, Highway Nazarene, Oak Grove.
