Caney Church News

November 16 – We met at Caney Church Wednesday evening and began services with singing. Bro. Bill was our leader. He took our prayer requests. We have lots to be thankful for this time of Thanksgiving. Sister Lila led us in prayer. Bro. Bill taught from the 18th chapter of Psalms. We had a very entertaining Bible study. It is always good to get together and discuss the scriptures. Today is pastor Bill’s birthday and the young folks and Sister Janice made him a big cookie. We were dismissed in prayer by Bro. Jim.

Sunday school opened with singing. Bro. Jack Essary welcomed everyone and prayer requests and praise reports were given. Sis. Tracy Shipley led us in prayer. Jack read Isaiah 12 for our devotionl

After Sunday school Happy Birthday was sung to Pastor Bill and Gracie Shipley. God bless them.

Sis. Tracy led our young ones in song. Testimonies were given by Jeff Shipley, Vanessa Mills, Elsie Coms, Melba Austin, Jim Lafferty, Jack Essary and Laurena Mitchell.

Praise and Worship began with singing. Laurena Mitchell sang a special. Pastor Bill spoke this morning from I Thess. 5:16-18. Give thanks in everything. If Paul could give thanks we should be able to rejoice ever more. Thank the Lord for what He brought you through and for the things He kept you from. Thank God from whom all blessings flow.

Sunday evening services began with singing. Bro. Jack welcomed everyone. Prayer requests and praise reports were given. Bro. Jim Lafferty led in prayer. Testimonies were given by Melba Austin, Lila Roberts, Janice Lafferty and Hi Lambeth. Pastor Bill Austin spoke Sunday evening from Luke 10:25-37. Love the Lord, love your neighbor to have eternal life, love the Lord with all your might, heart, soul. Show others kindess, tell them about Jesus. We are praying for everyone to have a desire to come the house of God, Hebrews 10:25-31.

November 23 – Caney Wednesday evening came together to study, discuss and testify of God’s goodness. Sis. Melba was the leader. She brought a lesson from Job. The young people met to study with Sis. Janice teaching about Moses and the burning bush. What a blessing to meet and study God’s word.

Sunday school opened with singing. Bro. Jack Essary welcomed everyone  taking prayer requests and praise reports. Bro. Jeff Shipley led in prayer. Jack read Psalms 36:1-8 for devotion. Testimonies were given by Jeff Shipley, Vanessa Mills and Jim Lafferty.

Praise and Worship began with singing. Melissa Harmon sang today. Pastor Bill Austin spoke this morning from John 1:35-46. Does Christ dwell in your heart? Are you searching for Christ? You can find Him if you just ask Him and believe in Him. Come and see He will fill that God sized hole in your heart. We were glad for the visitors.

Sunday evening service began singing. Bro. Bill took charge of the service taking prayer requests. Sis. Janice Lafferty led in prayer. Testimonies were given by Jim Lafferty, Hi Lambeth, Melba Austin and Janice Lafferty. Bro. Jack Essary brought the evening message from John 10:1-5. The only way to make heaven is by knowing Jesus. Listen to His voice and follow His words when He calls for you, you will know His voice and answer.

Caney will be having Thanksgiving/Christmas dinner December 11 after morning service. Come bring a covered dish and be blessed.
