Smallett

Sunday morning service began with instrumental music then congregational hymns followed by prayer requests and prayer. The little ones then did a Thanksgiving presentation, which was really good. Brother Claude Robertson and Sister Cindy Smith brought the special song.

Brother Roberts then had a baptizing of several new converts and rededications.

Visiting with us this week were Michael and Wanda (Bice) Andrews from Denton, Texas, Pauline Okhuysen, Donna Bannister, Bevy Moore, Kim and Cecil Huff, Nora Hunsaker and Lee Williams. Delmar and I visited Jack, Barb and Miracle Breshears one afternoon.

My mother, Nora Hunsaker was feeling a little under the weather for a few days but is doing better now. Lee Williams has had surgery on both of his eyes and says he sure can see a lot better now.

We enjoyed the Thanksgiving Dinner at the Senior Center, provided by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home.

Vern and Kathleen Deatherage made a trip to Western Texas to fulfill his dream of hunting mule deer and he got one the first day of his hunting. The deer weighed 240 pounds, anyway that is what he told us. Our dad, Bernard Deatherage, had talked about taking him hunting out there but passed away before that happened.

Remember to be thankful for the many blessings we have every day.

Happy Thanksgiving to all my readers.
