This Monday morning is without sunshine and will be raining by the afternoon with the promise of a good day Thursday, Thanksgiving. I will be in the Ava area with Dave and Cathy and dinner at Donna’s.
Sunday was a damp day, but all was faithful and came to church. Pastor Don always has a good message. This Sunday’s was from Ephesians 6:14, “To be courageous, God’s strength is to be strong because we are weak.” Sunday was a bad day for Pastor Don and Becky, it was one year ago that their only son was laid to rest. They know he is with Jesus, but it still hurts to lose their only child of 40 years.
Gladys Cunningham and her niece, Carol King, from Mountain View had a pleasant fellowship over a good meal at the Belguim Pancake House this past Thursday. Carol is the daughter of Sue Carr, Gladys’ sister. Sue is in heaven now enjoying many of the family and Oscar. Also, Gladys enjoyed a long visit over the phone with Van Kelly this past week. Van lives near Norwood, MO. and directs Camp JOY Bible Camp near Ava, MO.
I made a phone call Friday to my sister, Nadine, who lives in Oregon. It was her birthday. A few days before sister, Enola, and her three daughters came from Sandy, Oregon to have birthday dinner for Nadine at sister, Geneva’s house. She told me she is weak and very tired most of the time. From what I hear, Arley is taking good care of her. I thank God, she can be at home.
Enjoy Thanksgiving Day and have a safe one. God bless all.
