As the holidays approach the Ava Art Guild is getting the gallery ready for the annual Festival of Arts. It has been decorated and is ready for the festivities.
Each year throughout the week of the Festival of Arts school children visit from Ava Elementary and Ava Victory Academy for cookies and storytelling. Residents of the Heart of the Ozarks will also attend and enjoy refreshments and singing Christmas carols.
On Dec. 3 the Guild will be throwing its doors open for the annual open house. They are always excited to have members and the public visit the gallery and enjoy refreshments and win door prizes, including CDs, Branson tickets and more! This is a great time for socializing with the artists and friends of the Art Guild.
The open house at the gallery, 303 E. Washington Ave., will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and the public is encouraged to attend. This year’s event will include a photography show that ends on Dec. 3 and this is a great chance to see the photography in the exhibit.
More information on the photography show is available on the website avaartguild.org.
Nov. 19 will be the last workshop for 2011 so you don’t want to miss it! The workshop will be fun and causal; they will be making ornaments to be given to the local food pantry. These ornaments will be put into the food boxes that are given to people of the area who are having a tough time for the holidays.
The workshop is free and open to the public. All supplies are provided by the guild. There will be a short business meeting before the workshop.
Social time and refreshments begin at 1 p.m., meeting at 1:30 and workshop at 2 p.m. This is held at the gallery 303 E Washington Ave. The gallery is open Tuesday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with art and unique handmade gifts for sale and now decorated for the holiday season. Come check it out.
