We will be closed on Thursday and Friday for the Thanksgiving holiday. We wish everyone a very happy time with their families.
We appreciate Clinkingbeard Funeral Home for the good meal last Friday.
Our menu for this shortened week is Monday, November 21—Swiss steak, baked potato, carrots, pineapple. Tuesday, November 22—Cashew chicken, rice, oriental vegetables, egg roll, cookie. Wednesday, November 23–BBQ beef sandwich, savory potatoes, corn, cake. If you are 60 and older, you can eat with us for a donation of $3.50 or whatever you can afford on that day. Meal tickets for two weeks are cheaper.
Activities for this week include, but are not limited to OATS bus to Springfield and to Douglas County on Monday and to adjoining counties on Tuesday and to Ava on Wednesday. The Arthritis Foundation Exercise Class will be held on Monday.
Congratulations to the winners of the pinochle tournament held last Wednesday: Millie Heavener (947), Joretta Sawyer (942) and Bruce Prater (921).
Congratulations to Juanita Dougherty and Wander Whitaker, winners of the weather alert radios when Steven Little was here last week talking about preparing for emergencies.

It is a very unique program that matches seniors who want to help with seniors who are looking for help. The program is looking for more loving, giving, caring, compassionate people. Work can consist of meal preparation, light housekeeping, personal grooming, shopping, transportation, etc.
You still have time to sign up for open enrollment if you need to talk to someone about Medicare, Part A (hospital), Part B (medical), Part C (advantage) or Part D (prescription drugs). Call the center for an appointment and bring your Medicare card, any supplemental cards and your prescription bottles.
Until next week, have a good one!
