Ava Senior Center

Our menu for this week is Monday, November 14—Polish sausage, sauerkraut, potatoes, peas, pudding.  Tuesday, November 15—Biscuits and gravy, sausage, egg, fruit.  Wednesday, November 16—Chicken and dumplings, peas and carrots, coleslaw, peaches.  Thursday, November 17—Hot ham and cheese sandwich, vegetable soup, salad, ice cream.  Friday, November 18—Turkey and dressing, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, roll, pumpkin bars.  The salad bar is furnished with a paid meal on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Grace Health Care will be here on Thursday, November 17 for the foot clinic.  You must have an appointment to get treated.  You can call for an appointment at 683-5712.  We have openings on January 26, 2012.  The county health department is here for blood pressure screenings at 9:30 on Thursday and the driver’s exam takes place from about 9:30 to 3:30 on Thursday in the basement.  The Arthritis Foundation exercise class will be held on Monday and the Tai Chi Chuh exercise class continues on Monday and Friday.   Tuesday will be the last line dancing class at 12:30.

The OATS bus route is Ava to Springfield the first Monday each month; Douglas County to Springfield the third Monday; rural Douglas County to Ava second, third and fourth Mondays; Ava to adjoining counties second and fourth Tuesday; and south Ava to Ava on every Wednesday and Friday each month.  Please call the center (683-5712) for a ride.  They must have at least three to make the trip to Springfield or the trip will be cancelled.  OATS transportation is available to anyone regardless of age, income, disability, race, gender, religion, or national origin.
