Ava Area Animal Welfare League Junior Organizational Meeting

The Ava Area Animal Welfare League Junior (AAAWLJ) met September 22nd for the beginning of the school term organizational meeting. Members in attendance were Karen Davis, Brandy Johnson, Kacie Abels, Mikel Smith, Ali Hall, Barbara Andrus, Paul McKee, and Mary Chipps. Everyone was asked to sign in and provide their e-mail addresses for notification of upcoming meetings and events. Patrons and supporters in our community wanting to join our email contact list may send us an e-mail at aaawlj@gmail.com.  This is not an address to ask lots of questions or to blog about free pets. Rather this email address will be used to get information out about upcoming meetings and agendas.  If you want to tell us about your pets or to get involved with the organization, please come to our meetings. We are a non-profit youth and adult community organization promoting pet health and the well being of animals in our area. We promote humane farming and breeding practices, conscientious hunting and harvesting of wildlife, and spay/neuter programs for domestic pets. We hope to have more and different “walking” field trips this year and we are looking at offering another “FALL CAT spay/neuter program”. Our next meeting will be October 20th at 3:30 PM in Mrs. Karen Davis’ classroom on the Ava R-1 School campus. We are hoping to have a guest speaker at that meeting. More details will follow in our emails later this month. Everyone (students in grades 5-12 and community adults) are always welcome to attend our monthly meetings. Please remember that in bad weather, if school is dismissed, we will not have a meeting that evening.
