From our Sunday school lesson on the beatitudes to the morning worship service we started off this past Lord’s Day well and it just got better.
Dr. Sam Evans, our medical missionary to the Philippines was with us and gave a message from I Corinthians 3, encouraging us to be mature co-laborers in the cause of Christ, putting aside any worldly distractions from our purpose. Dr. Sam also gave us a mission report on the ongoing work in Philippines, in the area of health training of the indigenous people and the missions opportunities this work presents. Dr. Sam has to undergo surgery on his left shoulder this week, please remember him when you pray, both for his speedy recovery and continued success in the mission effort.
After the morning service we had dinner in the Fellowship Hall in observance of pastor appreciation day.
Our evening message was “The Prophets Prayer” from Daniel 9 and a comparison to our present need for similar intervention on the behalf of our nation.
