We started out our week at New Hope with Wednesday Bible study. We had 11 people attend services. I want to make special note of a few people that had special days this last week.
Happy Anniversary to Bro. Gary and Sis. Terri and Happy Birthday to Miley who just turned 2! May God continue to bless your lives deeply.
Sunday morning we had 14 adults attend Sunday school and 6 children. The adults studied the gospel of John, chapter 2 and the children studied what happened after the crucifixtion of Jesus. After Sunday school the kids sang songs for us and had their penny march. We had mention of many prayer requests. Attendance for morning worship was 23. Sis. Danita did a special reading from I Corinthians 10:13 and Phil. 4:13.
Our morning message was a very good anointed message brought forth by Bro. Scott from Ezekiel 7:1-17. We live in some pretty harsh and violent times and also a time where God fearing people are of a minority against the world. At this particular time of the year people are wrapped in holidays and celebrating them, people ooh and awe and cover their eyes and have a love of being fearful of scary movies, haunted houses, etc., but there is a fear that people aren’t grasping a hold of – and that my friends, is a fear of God. You want to be scared, be scared for your souls, and for the souls of the lost, and what will happen if you don’t receive Jesus into your life. Fear condemnation fear being turned away from God, fear burning in hell.
After services some of us gathered down to Vera Cruz. Bro. Brian was baptized at 2:00 Sunday afternoon by Pastor Scott and Bro. Lyndon assisting. We rejoice in another soul being added unto the kingdom and pray and uplift him in his Christian walk.
Sunday evening we gathered back together for night services. We took up prayer requests and mention of other churches sick afflicted and lost. We had 17 attend evening service. We had a special song sang by Madalyn and DiAnne and a special reading done by Sis. Shanna. God provided another wonderful message for us given by Bro. Scott from Galatians 6:1-12. We are each writing a book, and everything we do or don’t do will be noted. Righteous judgment will be rendered by God to every man according to his deeds. We should bear the burdens of others in love and therefore making it our burden also, having a meek and lowly spirit we should lift others up who are overcome with fault, and we should never be puffed up with pride thinking we are better than others. You can run but you can’t hide my brothers and sisters because we have a mighty righteous author and finisher of our lives so I pray you don’t get caught taking your last breath without being covered by the blood of Jesus.
Our service times are Wednesday at 7 p.m., Sunday School at 10 a.m., morning worship at 11 a.m. and evening worship at 7 p.m.
We appreciate Walter Trent at Ava Glass Co. for the wonderful and prompt job he did on the front windows of our church. We appreciate him and send prayers to God for him.
