Hello, I hope you have enjoyed the beautiful colors of nature that God has given us this year. Just the drive home from work has shown us some amazing views. Many people have tried to paint and photograph such scenery, but no one can truly capture God’s work of art.
I missed getting my article in the paper in time, so I have a little bit of news from last week. Bud and Frances Hampton hosted a music party at their house. There was a lot of good music, and some singing. They have a lot of talent in that family. Donald said that someone had been hiding their talent; of course we wouldn’t mention any names now would we Rachel. There were also some young girls who really enjoy singing. They are Sarah, Abby, Chloe, Millie, Annie, Lexie and Libby. We had the pleasure of hearing them sing several songs. Sunday morning some of the girls joined Bud and I in singing a couple of songs for specials. These are Bud’s granddaughters and I know how proud he is of them. Keep up the good work girls.
Sunday Donald told us they had news of a death in the family. Remember them in your prayers. Larry always wants us to remember his brothers, and we still have several on our prayer board.
We did our pastor apprecation for Donald and Portia Sunday morning and Portia wasn’t present, she had to work. We told him he had to share with her and take her out to eat (That does not mean a .99 cent hamburger either.) Portia was back Sunday night and at least he had told her we had given them something. I guess we have to give him a little bit of credit. Of course we did tell him, that we were going to check with her to make sure he did.
Roger and I have been busy as usual. We went up to my brother’s Friday night. We ate supper, sang a little and played a few cards and of course watched the Cardinals win the World Series. Howard is a big fan, and that was great game to watch. Saturday, I couldn’t seem to make my right hand and left hand know what the other one was doing. We went to Ava to see mom, and I knew my son Dustin was over at Red Bank to help with a Fish Fry. It did not dawn on me to realize that if something was going on at church of course my mother was going to be there. We got to the nursing home and my brother, Bob and Angie told us where she was. We went out to Red Bank Church and they were having quite a day. They said they had all been asking where I was. I know it wasn’t much of an excuse, but that’s the truth.
We are getting ready at our church for a big youth night, November 12 at 6:30 for the kids to receive their gifts. We are going to make this a special night and encouraging all the adults to come and participate. Who knows we might even feed them.
Believe it or not I have already had two trick or treaters so I better sign off and wish you a most blessed and wonderful fall season. Remember to thank God for all He gives us.
