Bryant Heights

This is a beautiful Monday. The warm sunshine feels good. Daylight Savings Time ends on next Sunday for once. I will be ready for that time. The dark mornings are too long for me. The leaves are falling and lots everywhere. The trees are taking on beautiful color this year.

A warm welcome was extended to each from Pastor Don Sunday morning at Seminole Temple. His message was from Ephesians 5:15-20 – Watch Where You Walk. Trunk or Treat was from 5:00-6:30 p.m. It was a big affair, thousands came with their children for candy and games. May, Marise and I went to see the sight and it was a sight and a joy to look upon.

A phone call came to me last week from Vicky, Inez Proctor Davis’ daughter from Ballwin, MO. Her mother had heart surgery and she thought she would be home soon. Inez, our prayers are for you and I am thinking you are home by now, reading my column.

Glayds Cunningham had a good visit with Gary Silvey while getting their flu shots this past week. Gary was the older brother of Denny and Larry Silvey. While living in Ava, Denny was Dewayne’s best friend in high school. He spent many days and nights at our home. After graduation Denny went to college, however, one afternoon he came to our home and told us he had cancer. After tears and prayers we asked Denny if his folks knew the sad news. He replied, No, I wanted to tell you and Oscar first.” It was not long until Oscar preached his funeral. Some good days, but sad days also. The good news is Denny Silvery is with Oscar now in heaven. Denny Silvey acccpted the Lord as Saviour.

Pray with an open heart.
