The OATS bus route is Ava to Springfield the first Monday each month; Douglas County to Springfield the third Monday; rural Douglas County to Ava second, third and fourth Mondays; Ava to adjoining counties second and fourth Tuesday; and south Ava to Ava on every Wednesday and Friday each month. Please call the center (683-5712) for a ride. They must have at least three to make the trip to Springfield or the trip will be cancelled.
We recycle aluminum cans to apply to the coffee fund, so if you have aluminum cans laying around, please bring them by or call and we will come and pick them up.
Our menu for the week is Monday, November 7—Cheeseburger, savory potatoes, baked beans, sherbet. Tuesday, November 8—Manicotti with meat sauce, salad, green beans, roll, cookie. Wednesday, November 9—Ham and beans, potatoes, spinach, cornbread, applesauce. Thursday, November 10—Fish, hush puppies, slaw, sliced tomatoes, pudding. Friday, November 11, we will be closed for the Veterans Day holiday. The salad bar is free on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We ask a donation of $3.50 for our meals.
We truly appreciate our volunteers for the many hours they put in. If you would like to volunteer your time for one day or for one week, please come by the Center and talk to Bonnie. If you have music talents or reading or story telling talents or would like to entertain us for one hour, please call and set up an appointment.

Steve Little will be here on Tuesday at 10:00 to talk about preparing for emergencies. Two weather radio’s will be given away and will be programmed for the winners. The Arthritis Foundation class continues to be held on Monday and line-dancing class is on Tuesday. The last line-dancing class will be November 15. The Pinochle tournament will be held on Wednesday, beginning around noon and the driver’s exam will be held on Thursday from 9:30 to 3:30.
