Sandy Church News

Among prayer requests given were Harold Menzies, Don Smith, Jeannie Cummins, our service today and this week and safety for the hayride.  Sonya Hodges prayed this prayer.

Our devotional reading was followed by singing and Sunday school classes were held.

Brad Siler prayed the offertory prayer as he and Clay McFarlin received our Lord’s tithes and offerings.

As Doyle Humbyrd closed his part, he said, “Turn around and tell someone if they had brought someone with them, we would have more people here”.  Danny Johnson led us in songs with LeaAnn at the piano.  Testimonies were shared giving our Father glory.

Pastor Neal prayed and read from Luke 11.  The disciples ask Jesus to teach them to pray.  Let us also have a desire for Him to teach us how to pray.  First, we call him Father and hallow his name, and then we surrender to His will and ask Him to give us our daily bread, to forgive us, to lead us and to deliver us.

At 4 p.m. we came together with two trucks and trailers with hay for a ride across the hills.  We had hot dogs and hamburgers grilled by Phillip and Clay McFarlin.  Van and Juanita Menzies had taken the food and drinks earlier.  After the meal, we had a service and came back to the church.  The trees were a great show of our Father’s handiwork.

Tuesday at 7 p.m. is special prayer time.

Wednesday through Saturday at 7 p.m. will be the Fifth Sunday meeting services of the White River Association.  Four former pastors will be doing the preaching.  They are John Comer, Freeda Holt, Bob Comer and Frances Humbyrd.  Come and worship with us.  Van Menzies will be preaching Friday night at Mt. Tabor in their Fifth Sunday meeting of the Missouri Association.
