Black Oak Church

“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord,” I Corinthians 15:58.

We will honor Pastor David with an appreciation dinner Sunday, October 30 after the morning worship.

Brother Roy Frye opened Sunday school after congregational singing. We missed Sister Shirley leading the song service. Pastor David prayed for the prayer request. Brother Roy read Genesis 2:18-24 for the devotion and dismissed us to class.

The children studied about sharing in Sunday School and Children’s Church.

We sang Happy Birthday to Brother Roy Frye. Three of his sisters joined him at church to surprise him. We hope Glenda, Dorothy and Myrtle all join us and him again soon. We appreciate Brother Roy and his faithfulness to God and the church.

Brother Bobby Turley took up the tithes and offerings.

Dailyn Stanifer and Macee Breeding did the penny march for Camp Piland.

Sister Dara Strong sang a special for us. Pastor David sang then preached from Deuteronomy 7:7-8. God chose to love Israel and chooses to love us also.

Please pray for the Davis family and other bereaved, Zamber Little, Betty Satterfield, Howard and Bailey Strong, Dana and family, Kathy, Ann, Jr. Berry, Veda Bushong, school teachers, Quin Breeding, Crystal Lee, Jeannie Miller, Tom Elliott, military, country and leaders, unspoken, unsaved and each other.

We had several out and we miss them so much when they are gone.

Sunday evening was our singing night. Pastor David, Macee Breeding, Dara Strong and Ella Faye Mitchell each sang for us. Sister Jo Stephens and Dave Brazeal each read poems and I read some scripture that a good Pastor read to me once on a home visit after I was baptized. I willl always love and remember Brother Robert Halstead.

We can only hope and pray that we can be a positive influence to others. Satan tries to trick us using the very people we love and respect.

Pastor David will preach at Mt. Tabor Saturday, October 29th at 5:00.

May God continue to bless you always as you walk with Him.
