Truth and Trust. That’s what Bro. Oren’s message was about this Sunday. He read scriptures from Gen.12:1-13 about the calling of Abraham from God. He spoke truth to Abraham when He told him he would be ruler over many nations. The trust part came from Abraham when God said leave your home, family and friends and go where I send you. Abraham trusted God enough that he did as he was told. Along the way, there were a few bumps in the road but God knew Abraham was a righteous man. Just as Abraham was not a perfect man, God had a plan for him just as He has a plan for all of us today. Our job is to trust His plan and not to second guess His wisdom. That can be difficult for us when we have to leave our comfort zone in order to obey Him or we think we can help Him along at times. If we trust Him, He will never leave us. The big thing we must remember is that to trust means to be obedient to His Word.
Remember to be in prayer this week for all those mentioned in worship today. Pray for the sick, for those who are homebound, the grieving or those who are spiritually lost. Pray for Friend Day that is coming up on Nov.6th so that our unsaved friends may hear God’s Truth and want a personal relationship with Him. Our missionaries around the world as well as our pastors and leaders in our own communities, need to know that they are lifted in prayer to a God who listens and answers their needs.
We have a busy time ahead this month. Choir practice has begun for our Christmas Cantata this year. It’s going to be so inspirational so we encourage everyone to think about being involved with our choir. Please come and check it out Sunday evening at 5 p.m. God needs your voice even more than we do.
There will be a church health meeting on Friday Oct 28th at 6:30 p.m. at the home of Pastor Oren and Donna Alcorn. Anyone who wishes to be a part of this, we invite you to join us. If you don’t know what this Church Health is all about, come once and check it out. You may find out you have something to add that may be important to the life and growth of the church.
Our worship services are at 8:30 a.m. or 10:45 with Sunday School between at 9:45 a.m. Sunday school is a great way to learn more about the Bible as the Lord teaches us through His Word. We also offer a Wednesday Bible study at 7 p.m. and our student ministries begin at 6:30 on Wednesday nights. We have something for all ages so we hope you’ll come and visit us soon.
Have a great week and think about how we respond when God hits us with the Truth. Do we trust and obey Him? We need to be determined to be more faithful in our walk with God and accept His purpose for us. See you Sunday and God Bless.
