Rome

It looks like this almost perfect Ozarks weather might be leaving us. I was hoping it would last long enough for my zucchini to grow just a little bit more, but we can’t change mother nature.

Tony and Dick Richards drove to Oxford, AR. Saturday to Townsend Supplies to check hout their line of seasoning and spices. They were impressed with the amount of stuff they have for sale.

I was sorry to hear about the death of Sherman Denney. His sister, Ruth, and I were talking the other day about the Denneys, the Hadens, Cox and Jenkins, who made up the Mt. Tabor community during the 40′s and 50′s.

Kenny and Seth Hunt did some deer hunting over the weekend with bow and arrow on our place. They didn’t have any luck.

Sunday the 16th was a busy day at the Goodhope General Baptist Church. After the service the birthday and anniversary dinner at 2 p.m. our pastor, David Welch was ordained a General Baptist preacher. A large crowd attended the occasion. Several preachers were there. Pastor Neal Crum had planned to preach, but he got called away at the last moment. Pastor Jeff did a great job filling in for Neal. David’s wife, daughter and uncle and aunt were by his side.

We want to wish the best for him. David is a spirit filled man. We are fortunate to have him for our pastor at Goodhope General Baptist Church.

God bless us all.
