The menu for this week includes Monday, October 24—Cashew chicken, rice, egg roll, oriental vegetables, cookie. Tuesday, October 25—Open faced turkey sandwich, green beans, roll, pudding. Wednesday, October 26—Ham and beans, cornbread, tomatoes, fried potatoes, cobbler. Thursday, October 27—Polish sausage, sauerkraut, peas, mashed potatoes, fruit. Friday, October 28—Sloppy Joes, tater tots, slaw, cookie. The suggested price is $3.50 for those 60 and older. Come and join us for a delicious, nutritious meal.
The activities for this week include the OATS bus to Springfield on first and third Mondays, OATS bus rural Douglas County to Ava 2nd, 3rd and 4th Mondays, OATS bus to adjoining county on second and fourth Tuesdays, OATS bus to Ava on every Wednesday and Friday. Need a ride? Call the center (683-5712). Driver’s exam will be on Thursday in the basement from 9:30 to 3:30. The Pitch tournament will be held on Monday, October 24 at noon. If you would like to participate, please call the center. Line dancing class will be held on Tuesday, October 25 at 12:30.
The winners in the pinochle tournament were Annabelle Walker (1372), Virginia Silvey (1089) and Millie Heavener (1075). Congratulations to these ladies.
Open enrollment for Medicare Part D, prescription drugs is October 15 to December 7. We are now taking one-hour appointments, so please call 683-5712. Bring your Medicare card and your prescriptions.
