Community Blood Center of the Ozarks and the Ava High School FFA Chapter will host a community blood drive here on Wednesday, Oct. 26, from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
The blood drive will be held at the Ava Performing Arts Center on the Ava High School campus.
A Code Yellow Alert has been issued for O Negative type blood, meaning there is less than a two day supply of this type of blood on hospital shelves.
It takes 275 donations every day to meet the needs of the 37 area hospitals that use CBCO products.
Eligibility requirements include weighing at least 110 pounds and being in general good health on the day of the blood drive.
Donors will be required to present ID.
